Joseph R. Kurz is a retired U.S. Army Colonel and dynamic logistics leader with 30 years of experience turning complex challenges into operational excellence. He has served in 18 leadership positions across five levels of responsibility, from small, face‑to‑face teams to large, globally dispersed units, ultimately shaping national‑level strategy and Army‑wide policy. Known for his steady leadership and commitment to people, Joe builds environments where teams learn, innovate, and perform at their best.Joe’s career includes directing global logistics operations across Europe, the Middle East, the Pacific, and Afghanistan in support of an Army of more than 1.4 million personnel. He managed enterprise‑scale supply chains, including planning the modernization of a $4.6 billion worldwide retail network with 235 facilities, integrating industry best practices and responsible, sustainability‑focused systems. He has collaborated with elected officials and foreign governments to strengthen regional safety, disaster preparedness, and international interoperability. His leadership includes managing $335M budgets, overseeing teams as large as 2,600 people, and implementing strategies that improved efficiency, reduced risk, and delivered measurable results in high‑pressure environments.Joe brings a strong academic and professional foundation to his consulting work. He earned a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University, a Master of Military Art and Science in Advanced Military Studies from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and a Master of Science in Logistics Management from the Florida Institute of Technology. These advanced degrees build on his Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida, collectively shaping a perspective grounded in strategic planning, operational design, organizational learning, and resource stewardship.
